REVARQ — Adaptive Solar Array
An adaptive solar-array project combining module sensing, topology reconfiguration, embedded control and a monitoring dashboard.
The problem
Solar modules in the same array can receive different amounts of light. Fixed electrical connections cannot adapt their topology to those changing conditions. REVARQ explores array reconfiguration as another control variable.
The approach
ARC-6 combines a six-module photovoltaic array concept with module-level sensing, an ESP32 controller and a switching matrix. The repository includes embedded firmware, a Flutter supervisory dashboard, KiCad hardware work and a Next.js product site. Its control workflow evaluates candidate configurations before switching, uses a break-before-make transition, and checks the resulting power. The website explains the system through interactive topology diagrams and a dashboard.
System flow
- Read module voltage and current
- Estimate mismatch across the array
- Evaluate candidate topologies
- Validate and execute a switching transition
- Verify output and display telemetry
Outcome
A connected solar and embedded-systems project with firmware, dashboard, hardware design and a deployed project website. The repository distinguishes implemented work from future optimisation methods; no field performance gain is claimed here.
